Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools are often complex so we’ve worked very hard to create a simple and easy-to-use platform where you no longer have to use them. Stepes breaks down the text into sentences and you also have the option of using MT so you can modify these sentences and speed up the process.

You can contact the Stepes Team to request a client re-evaluation and ask for feedback on future translations, helping you locate the areas you may need to improve on. Clients may or may not change their reviews.

Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools have been used by professional translators for decades. Although they were helpful in the past, they haven’t been advancing at the same pace as other technological developments. In other words, they’re outdated. This is why Stepes decided to create a new, innovative platform where CAT tools are no longer necessary.

Also, CAT tools are only helpful in the translation process. Stepes, meanwhile, allows you to search for jobs, translate and get paid all on the same platform.

Once you’ve completed your translation, the client can review your work and rate your translations. The ratings are based on the quality of your translation and your service. The better your rating, the more likely you’ll be offered jobs in the future. It can even make a client specifically request you for future projects.

You will have to ask to reset your password here. It will ask you for your username and then it will send you an email with a password reset link.

If your account is locked, there are three main reasons.

    1. You are using too many language pairs (>3).
    2. Your IP address is linked to multiple accounts or we found more than one email address with your name in the system. If you get a message informing you that you are blocked, please check these two issues first. If none of them apply to you, please contact our support team.
    3. The last reason could be that your profile information is not properly filled out. Please check if we have all necessary data.

The Stepes Try Outs are industry-specific sample documents that allow translators to get familiar with the Stepes platform. They are only available in the app and are unpaid. You can try our most popular feature, document translation and MTPE (machine translation post editing). Here, you can edit machine translations, rate the translation quality and help increase it.

Generally, Stepes asks clients when they upload a file whether DTP (desktop publishing) is included in the project. If it is, you’ll see this information when applying for the job. If you have any issues with DTP after accepting the job, please contact our support  and we will work on a solution together.

MT stands for machine translation. This button will automatically translate the source sentence so you can edit the machine translated text. This saves time and allows you to be more efficient.
